VIDEO: A Cessna 172 Crash Tested to the Concrete From 25 Meters to Test ELT’s

This is a great example of how a Cessna 172 will perform when falling to the concrete from 82 feet (25 meters). Hopefully that will never happen of course, but you would probably survive it. This was a crash test performed at the Landing and Impact Research Facility at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, to test the performance of four ELT’s, short for emergency locator transmitters, on board.
